Your patient, Mr. Jones, needs surgery on a bunion on his left foot. He has never had any surgery before and is worried about the procedure and his foot afterwards. Also, he is unhappy that he will not be able to drive or walk as usual for some time after his surgery. Reassure him about the procedure and emphasize the importance of following instructions afterwards.
Scenario B.
For the last 2 months, your patient, Ms. Chu, has been having tummy pain after eating certain foods. She likes to eat fried and spicy foods. She is also overweight. Talk to her about her diet (spicy, fatty foods can affect stomach and gall bladder) and her weight (healthier foods also recommended.) Offer her help from a dietitian.
